It is an imposing and spacious villa in the gated Anchor Estate community near the village of Whitehouse on Jamaica’s beautiful south coast about 75 minutes from the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. The views are amazing and there is almost always a gentle sea breeze. There are a couple of nearby beaches which, except for a few locals, visitors are likely to have all to themselves.

The villa’s 3 bedrooms come with expected amenities such as air conditioning, internet access, a fully equipped kitchen as well as a large pool. Owners, Daisy and Bernard Skan have been hosting travelers for more than fourteen years and welcome each guest with a glass of their home made wine. And, although guests have the facilities to prepare their own meals, Daisy is often happy treat guests to her own very sumptuous Jamaican style fare.

A ganja friendly property

Guests are free to toke in the many open aired spaces on the property but not in the rooms. Smoking is also allowed on the roof, on the balconies, the outside patios, and the pool area.There are herb houses nearby, particularly in Negril, for guests to replenish their stash, Other popular ganja destinations include Blue Hole Mineral Spring and ganja farm in Brighton and House of Sensi in Orange Hill.

Close to good dining options

There are many local dining options for guests who prefer to not prepare their own meals. These include Elaine’s Chateau, Ocean Sands and The Belair in Belmont as well as Darren’s Restaurant in Whitehouse. Adventurous eaters may love the popular pastime of visiting nearby Scott’s Cove for escoveitched fish and bammy.
