Overview

Surrounded by the sea on 3 sides

Luna Sea Inn is a small boutique hotel with a fabulous restaurant in Bluefields, Belmont on Jamaica’s South West coast, about 1 hour from Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport. The property is surrounded by the sea on three sides on a peninsula that juts into Bluefields Bay marine sanctuary – about midway between Negril and Treasure Beach and is a beautiful, quiet, relaxing getaway far from the hordes of the busy tourist towns. This is a resort where shorts and flip flops are proper attire for all occasions.

Do as much or as little as possible

Luna Sea Inn offers you many ways to do as little as possible. You can jump into the ocean for a swim, idle in one of the many chaise lounges, sunning beds and Adirondack chairs scattered throughout the property or dive into the infinity pool for a quick cool down. You can also get some rays by the small man-made beach next to a public beach used by local fisherman. There’s also a large outdoor TV for those who want to catch up on how their hometown sports team is doing.

A ganja friendly property

There are many places to laze in a chaise lounge or hammock, enjoy the cool breezes, sip on a Red Strip and, of course, enjoy a spliff. Guests are allowed to smoke on the property and Luna Sea’s ganja vacation packages include a half ounce of ganja on arrival. For those who wish to start sampling some of Jamaica’s finest on the drive to the resort, your driver will stop at a herb house in Montego Bay after airport pickup. Arrangements can also be made with local area farmers for those who want to make purchases or do a farm tour.

The most incredible sunsets

Many guests prefer to hang out in the gazebo, one of the focal points of the property, to enjoy the cool breezes, sip a few cocktails, meet new friends, watch the most incredible sunsets in Jamaica, or catch an amazing moonset complete with shooting stars.

Gourmet Jamaican and international dishes

The on-site restaurant offers a variety of gourmet Jamaican and international dishes. Try a spicy local dish or perhaps a cheeseburger with a Jamaican twist. The chef’s use of callaloo (a local green) is nothing short of amazing as are his appetizer sticks and guava jerk sauce. Ask the staff for recommendations.

Tours & events

There are many activities for the more active inclined who get tired of lazing by the pool. The staff will be happy to guide you towards scuba diving snorkeling, hiking, fishing or whatever else it is that interests you. There are also numerous nearby area attractions for those who want to venture further afield – everything from waterfalls to a bar accessible only by boat. Some the most popular attractions include:

  • Appleton Estates Rum Factory
  • Pelican Bar
  • Black River Safari

  1. My husband and I took our first tropical vacation together at the Luna Sea Inn. It’s a great package for ganja loving couples. We enjoyed the ocean view from our room and had breakfast every morning from the cabana above the ocean. The food was out of this world amazing – even the locals ate there! Breakfasts and dinners American or Jamaican style. The owner, Linda, is a fun woman in her 70s who owns the resort & she’s great to chat with. All the staff is so nice and welcoming. They can recommend area attractions and provide transportation. We got an amazing massage at the resort too, and really enjoyed the nonalcoholic drink options at the bar as people who don’t drink much alcohol. Our tour of the local cannabis farm was very unique- we walked up a hill 40 mins and down through the brush so do bring good walking shoes and long pants! It is a true glimpse at local life, as your guide – the local bush doctor- will take you up to his best grow. We got to see the local community and buy some carvings (& ganja) during our trip to the local ganja farm. Americans & Canadians – if you expect “western” weed, buy it at the dispensary in Montego Bay when you arrive. The ganja that the locals smoke is different than what we’re use to, but it was a very welcome difference for us. It’s lower THC and smokes very slowly- which is perfect for vacationing. You won’t need to nap off the THC with this ganja, so you can explore and enjoy your day better. We also got to enjoy a tour of the Blue Hole Mineral Spring and its ganja farm thanks to Toke N Tour. Our driver picked us up with a joint ready- it was great! Overall we had an amazing time at the Luna Sea Inn & would recommend it for couples, families, friend trips – really anything. You will get an intensely locally experience rather than a “touristy” one. Thanks for Ganja Vacations for putting this package together!
