Gowrie InnA SMALL, MOUNTAIN B&B POPULAR BIRDERS AND NATURE LOVERS
Overview
A small mountainside B&B
Gowrie Inn is a small B&B over 2500 ft above sea level in the small, lush farming community of Coleyville, just outside of Christiana, about 25 km from both of Jamaica’s international airports. It’s 17km to the well-known town of Mandeville. Christiana is a vibrant market town with shops, fast food restaurants and a small market. The inn takes its name from the nearby Gourie caves, the largest river cave on the island.
Popular with nature lovers and birders
Operated by Anthony Brown and his family for more than 6 years, Gowrie Inn is very popular with nature lovers and birders and, with just 3 bedrooms, has an intimate feel. There is no air conditioning but at 2592 feet in the mountains, it is not necessary and will not be missed. Guests can expect good WiFias well as access to a well-equipped shared kitchen. The rooms also all have kitchenettes.
Ganja available from local farmers
Guests are free to smoke anywhere on the property except in the rooms. Ganja is easily available from local farmers in the area. The closest herb house is Kaya, about 90 minutes away in the town of Falmouth.
Good local eats
Guests who prefer not to prepare their own meals can dine at the onsite restaurant as well as at the several cookshops in the area including Father Bull, Eaters Paradise, Case Bar as well as Christiana Snacks and Restaurant. Local area tours and attractions are available on the nearby Hectors and Noisy rivers as well as on the beach in Falmouth.
