Thousands and thousands of California workers unjustly denied jobs or fired for unscientific marijuana tests received new protections recently. A new bill signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom has made it illegal for employers to discriminate against workers solely for off-duty weed use. The bill effectively ends pre-employment urine testing, except for federal jobs and for those working in the building and construction trades.
